womanhood in fragments
This is a tribute to my grandma. She was an incredible person with such extraordinary optimism, strength, resilience, and zest for life that you could only admire. My intention was to depict her beauty, playfulness, but also that marvellous ability to turn bad into good, to grow and help others flourish.
I’ve spent the last few years travelling. I lived in Spain, Japan, Vietnam, a bit in the US. I also spent over a month in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia. I've been living in Edinburgh for over a year now and I keep longing for travels. I guess it's a bit like Virginia Wolf once said" "As a woman, I have no country. As a woman, my country is the whole world."
Always dreaming. Captured in the moment of my own absence. It's so easy for me to get lost in my thoughts and lose all awareness of the surrounding physical world.
