A Poem for The Sea
Whisper to me
Tell me the secrets no one knows
No one but the sand that sways beneath your breath
No one but the coastline you swallow with your kiss
No one but the hulls of recked boats, who’s sailors’ souls swoon in your dark womb
Tell me the stories of the earth
Of how we walk upon it
Of how you swallowed us up and spat us out and made all that is and are
You are the endless one
The mother of the mother
Ageless
Swollen
We are ever tucked in your embrace
Ocean
I want to thank you
Thank you for making life
Because now I get to live it
